Aquatint Screen
I produce an Aquatint Screen for use in photographic printmaking processes, which simulates the random dot of a fine aquatint. These contact screens are custom made and feature a random pattern stochastic tint, similar to 300 dpi screen, with 70 - 75% opaque black dot coverage. The Aquatint Screen is placed in direct contact with light sensitive films and plates during exposure, providing an overall rich black 'aquatint-like’ base, in preparation for a second exposure to a drawing or photographic positive. Aquatint Screens create an organic tonal range in photographic works.
The Aquatint Screen is generated from traditional silver-based graphic arts film. They are durable, reusable, can be cleaned, and may be cut to custom sizes.
Retailed exclusively at Takach Press.
